Claims to Fame!

A few years ago we were asked along with some others to play for a pop video which was being made at Dunnottar  Castle by Stonehaven. The pop group were called 'Highland' and were from Holland. As you'll see from the photos, the group consisted of two rappers and a female vocalist. The vocalist had been a previous Eurovision winner!

Our part was to mime in the background as the group were filmed in front of us. Although our sound wasn't recorded we learned the string parts from listening to the track so many times!! We were kitted out in period costumes and wigs and were made up with white powdered faces.

The day was very long but great fun. The cameraman was the same guy who did the Spice Girl's Wannabe video!!! Unfortunately Highland didn't make the UK charts but apparently made the top 10 in Europe's MTV chart!!

PRINCESS ANNE

During 2003, The Princess Royal visited Aberdeen. During her trip she officially opened the new faculty of Health at the Robert Gordon University. We were delighted to be asked to play for the high profile event which attracted a large number of local dignitaries. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to speak to her Royal Highness but we were told by several people that she enjoyed our playing!!!
